Briarpatch Woods

Briarpatch Woods is a starting area just North of the Village of Crowl.
It includes two sub-areas:

  • Shrine of the Raptor
  • Aquavia



Shrine of the Raptor

The Shrine of the Raptor is full of hidden walls. Make sure you have Detect Secret and True Seeing on!
This location is accessed from Briarpatch Woods.

Aquavia

Aquavia is the first dungeon you'll encounter.
This location is accessed from Briarpatch Woods.
It includes one sub-area:

  • Aquavia Causeway



Aquavia Causeway

The Aquavia Causeway is a deeper level in the dungeon of Aquavia.
This location is accessed from Aquavia.




Village of Crowl

The village of Crowl is the first village you will find in your adventure. Here you'll be able to shop for weapons & items, gather clues to go forward as well as new quests to fulfill.
This location includes many sub-areas, such as:

  • Crowl Supply Store
  • Abandoned Warehouse
  • Bronze Cauldron
  • Museum of Magic (in Bronze Cauldron)
  • Enigma Well (in Museum of Magic)
  • Crusader Temple
  • Catacombs (from Crusader Temple)
  • Crypt of the Monks (from Catacombs)
  • Wayfarer's Inn
  • Mantor Garrison
  • The Armory (in Mantor Garrison)

  • Gorlo (Crusader Temple's Archives)

Bronze Cauldron

The Bronze Cauldron is where you will find the NPC named Trimestes. You can purchase magical weapons and armor from him. This is also where you will find the entrance to the Museum of Magic.
It includes one sub-area:

  • Museum of Magic


This location is accessible from the Village of Crowl.

You will be able to find different magical contraptions in here, including a specific one with which you can blow in a trumpet, turn a key, etc. Properly solving this riddle will award you a Jeweled Egg.
It includes one sub-area:

  • Enigma Well

In here you can hear three voices, each saying a single word. Not sure if there's any use.

Crowl Supply Store

The Crowl Supply Store is where you will find the NPC named Smithers. You can purchase weapons (swords, axes, etc.) and armor (shields) from him.
This location is accessible from the Village of Crowl.

Crusader Temple

The Crusader Temple is where you will the two NPCs, Argosyre and Gorlo. Argosyre is the High Priest of the Temple while Gorlo is in charge of the Archives. This is also where you will find the entrance to the Catacombs.
It includes one sub-area:

  • Catacombs


This location is accessible from the Village of Crowl.

The Catacombs are where monks from the Crusader Temple were buried. This is also where you will find the entrance to the Crypt of the Monks.
The cause asked by the ghost to continue is: Grief

This location is accessible from the Crusader Temple in the Village of Crowl.

Crypt of the Monks

The Crypt of the Monks is where you will find the item to unlock the seal in the Cenotaph of the Black Lich, as well as the resting place for Mistral.
This location is accessible from the Catacombs inside the Crusader Temple in the Village of Crowl.

Mantor Garrison

The Mantor Garrison is where you will find the NPC named Captain Krone. To gain access to the garrison you must first recover the Seahorse Signet, acquired after from the Pit of Hobknob. This is also where you will find the entrance to The Armory.
It includes one sub-area:

  • The Armory

This map is INCOMPLETE (69%) and will need to be updated by someone that has 100%.

The Armory is a cache located under the Mantor Garrison. To access it you can either pick the lock on the door leading to it or complete a quest with Captain Krone by killing the Black Lich from the Inner Sanctum in the Cenotaph of the Black Lich.
This location is accessible from the Mantor Garrison.




Gardens of Midknight

The Gardens of Midknight is the second main area you will find in the game, and is located South of the Village of Crowl.
It includes three sub-areas:

  • Spirit Caves
  • Tomb of Saint George
  • Cenotaph of the Black Lich


As well as one location of note:

  • An Obelisk



Spirit Caves

In the Spirit Caves, you will be able to find (and fight!) two ghostly figures guarding treasures. Make sure to have enchanted items or spells to be able to dispatch them!
This location is accessible from the Gardens of Midknight.

Tomb of Saint George

In the Tomb of Saint George, you will be able to find the remains of this Knight. This is also where you will find the entrance to The Eyrie, once you have returned Mistral's corpse to the Crypt of the Monks.
It includes one sub-area:

  • The Eyrie


This location is accessible from the Gardens of Midknight.

The Eyrie

The Eyrie is a place located at the top of the Avian Mountains, where you will be able to find hidden treasure and the recruitable NPC named Sir Coffergus. This is where you will find the entrance to the Raptor Grottos and The Wizard's Sky Barge.
It includes two sub-areas:

  • Raptor Grottos
  • The Wizard's Sky Barge


This location is accessible from the Tomb of Saint George.

This location is accessible from The Eyrie, above the Tomb of Saint George.

The Wizard's Sky Barge

The Wizard's Sky Barge is a floating barge high above the world of Hyperborea. In it you will find the Wizard as well as his pet, both of which you will have to fight and are hard encounters -- BEWARE!.
This location is accessible from The Eyrie. You will need to equip the Avian Helmet and Rest at the screen where a round stone is on the ground.

Cenotaph of the Black Lich

The Cenotaph of the Black Lich is the first floor of the dungeon where you will find two bosses:

  • Hobknob
  • The Black Lich


To open the main door, you will need to have looted the hand from the remains of the Bishop that are buried in the Catacombs under the Crusader Temple in the Village of Crowl. This is also where you will find the entrance to the Cenotaph Vault.
It includes one sub-area:

  • Cenotaph Vault


Cenotaph Vault

The Cenotaph Vault is the second floor of the Cenotaph dungeon. This is also where you will find the entrance to the Pit of Hobknob and the Inner Sanctum.
It includes two sub-areas:

  • Pit of Hobknob
  • Inner Sanctum


To access the Pit of Hobknob, you need to put the Dead rat corpse into the altar then use Ank of Hobknob on the rat corpse

The Pit of Hobknob is where you will fight the spider boss, Hobknob. Make sure you are prepared as he hurts quite a bit! Once dispatched, you will be able to find the Seahorse Signet to turn in to Captain Krone at the Mantor Garrison back in the Village of Crowl. This is also where you will find the entrance to Samhain Gorge.
It includes one sub-area:

  • Samhain Gorge


This area is accessible from Cenotaph Vault.

Inner Sanctum

The Inner Sanctum is where you will fight the lich boss, The Black Lich. It is a heavy spellcaster so if you can paralyze / silence it will help. Once done, you can loot the Necrostaff off his corpse to turn in to Captain Krone at the Mantor Garrison and the Remains of Mistral which can be turned in the Crypt of the Monks, both in the Village of Crowl.
Turning in remains of Mistral will award you a key that unlocks the Skull Gate in the Tomb of Saint George, granting you access to The Eyrie.




Samhain Gorge [INCOMPLETE]

The Samhain Gorge is the pass below the Avian Mountains that can be found through the Pit of Hobknob. This is where you will find the entrance to Cistern Zero and the Ukluk Mining Company
It includes two sub-areas:

  • Cistern Zero
  • Ukluk Mining Company


This location is accessible from the Pit of Hobknob.

Cistern Zero is a small area connecting the Uruk Mining Company to the Samhain Gorge.
This location is accessible from the Samhain Gorge and the Uruk Mining Company.

The Ukluk Mining Company is a large area below the Samhain Gorge. This is where you will find the entrance to Deepsink Project.
It includes one sub-area:

Deepsink Project

The Deepsink Project is a pitch black location in which you need infravision to see. You can blindly go in the corridors and map it yourself, but beware the poison gas!
This location is accessible from the Ukluk Mining Company.
